Rochester Public Schools is looking forward to an exciting upcoming football season with our teams at John Marshall, Century, and Mayo High Schools. We appreciate the community's support and are committed to making these events a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all students, families, and community members. We would like to share our policies and new additions that will take effect this fall, improving public safety and providing a great game-day atmosphere for everyone to enjoy great football!
For cross-town games (Rochester schools competing with each other): game times are 5:30 p.m. All other games will be regularly scheduled.
Gates will be opened for attendees one hour prior to game time. We recommend arriving early.
After the 3rd quarter, ticket sales will end, and no admittance or re-admittance will be allowed into the stadium.
Elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a caregiver/parent responsible for them throughout the entire game.
The expectation is that these students will sit with their adult or in the designated middle school area. No loitering or running around will be tolerated. If a parent/caregiver is responsible for multiple students and one student in the group is asked to leave because of behavioral issues, the supervising parent/caregiver and all other students in that group must also leave.
High School students will enter through a designated gate and must show school identification. Students wanting to attend games involving schools they do not attend will be denied entry unless they are accompanied by a caregiver/parent.
Students (high school and middle school) may lose the privilege of attending events if they are not in good standing with the school. Students must attend school and meet expectations during the day to have the privilege of attending and participating in extracurricular events and activities after school.
Student attendance, entry, and removal are left to the discretion of school building administration and School Resource Officers (SROs).
Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not allowed at any RPS event:
Fighting, physical aggression, or threatening behavior
Harassment, bullying, or use of inappropriate or discriminatory language
Throwing objects or entering the playing surface
Disruptive conduct that interferes with the event or others' experience
Failure to comply with directions from staff or security
Prohibited Items
For the safety of all attendees, the following items are not permitted:
Weapons of any kind
Fireworks, explosives, or flammable materials
Outside food and/or drink
Alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances
Tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices
Laser pointers or similar devices
Artificial noisemakers (air horns, whistles, etc.)
Balls (footballs, soccer balls, etc.), frisbees are prohibited
Large bags, backpacks, or items that may obstruct views
Only clear bags will be allowed.
Small, non-clear clutch purses or wallets are permitted and will be subject to search and inspection.
Any item deemed unsafe or disruptive by event staff
All bags and items are subject to inspection.
Please note that the posted lists of prohibited items and behaviors are not exhaustive. All expectations, rules, and disciplinary codes outlined in the Student Handbook remain fully in effect at all school-sponsored events.
